The year was 1984 and the VHS camcorder was all the rage and Frank Borres was an award-winning broadcast journalist. The News 12 Cablevision reporter at the time took the new videotape technology and started American View Productions (AVP).

Originally it was a part time event videotaping business, recording and photographing hundreds of weddings and events up until the end of his stint as a public relations officer with a Bridgeport Bank. In the 1990s it turned into a full-time creative agency producing videos as well graphic design and printed pieces for clients. In the mid 90s AVP started the Borres Productions arm which then created award winning documentaries and TV shows for public television (PBS).

As the world went online and digital products became a marketing tool AVP then evolved into a full-service marketing firm providing digital graphic products and website productions. Social media was added to the AVP portfolio in the 2010s and today AVP staff offer clients what it calls a plug-in marketing department, providing services from video and photography to graphic design, media buying, SEO and eMarketing.

Most importantly AVP now serves as a strategic partner to its clients as well as providing the ability to execute on all marketing deliverables including media/public relations and community affairs. Frank and his staff are proud to continue to provide marketing services that grow its clients’ businesses and services to the community. Now 40 years later AVP hangs its hat (and Frank has many) on the great staff that have served clients for decades. Frank says, “First and foremost I give God the glory and appreciation for allowing me to serve Connecticut businesses and non-profits that make such a difference. I’m also grateful for the support of my family and the clients who have had faith in us. Also, it has been a pleasure to create campaigns and marketing services that have played a part in successfully growing the local economy. I’m happy to put my experience to work for my clients and lend the expertise and knowledge of my great staff to continue to creatively innovate for those we serve.”
